BLACK COCKATOO TAIL SETS

Black-Cockatoo tail sets can be made up to order, to suit each customer's requirements. 
All our feathers  are naturally fallen (moulted). We operate ethically and 100% legally compliant, under Australian law - which has the reputation of being very strict when it comes to trading with native wildlife (including their parts, such as feathers.)
Since our tail sets do come from moulted feathers, it means that feathers from up to several different birds are combined together to make the one tail set. It is difficult to make up a full tail set of moulted feathers which exactly replicates the tail on the one bird (when using grade compatible feathers) but we get them as close as possible and sometimes can exactly replicate a tail, as it is on the one bird. The difficulty in making up full tail sets comes from the combination of keeping the feather grades compatible while matching the feathers - as we don't mix low grades with high grades in tail sets. Hypothetically, if we mixed low grade with high grade feathers to make up a full tail set the task will be much easier, but the tail set wouldn't look as attractive.

Each feather on the left will nicely match the opposing feather on the right, ensuring that each tail set we make up is symmetrical and attractive to the eye. No one else can offer such beautiful tail sets, where every feather is the same or similar quality.

We make up tail sets whenever possible (and numbers are limited each year.) They can be made up in many ways, so can be all the same gender and species or can be mixed between male and female tail feathers. For something different can also be mixed with different species, such as Red-tailed and Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo combination, etc. All our full tail sets (regardless of grade) include a detailed invoice and *C I T E S paperwork (*for Customers outside of Australia.)

Example 5: HIGHISH GRADE - Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo - TAIL SET. C.b. macrorhynchus subspecies, the largest Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo subspecies. Extra-long and large tails!
